Keep all spices stored out of the sunlight. When spices are exposed to light and heat, they lose their flavor and it reduces their storage life. Store spices in a dark, cool location to keep them flavorful and fresher for longer. Meals prepared with fresher spices are simply more delicious.
Cooking vegetables for a long time robs them of the critical nutrients that make them a healthy choice. When you use faster cooking methods, such as steaming and sauteing, vegetables keep more of the nutrients intact. The best way to make sure you get all the vital nutrients housed within veggies is to eat them raw.

If you find yourself with leftover homemade sauce, freeze the leftovers in ice cube trays. You will then have it readily available for when you need to make a quick and easy meal. All that needs to be done is to warm it up in a pan. The sauce is still good after it is frozen.
